NECK PAIN THIS TIME OF YEAR?! Vancouver Disc Centers IS HERE TO
HELP!
As
much as the holiday season brings joy, for some it can be a
pain in the neck. Vancouver Disc Centers is here to help! Chiropractic
care at our Vancouver chiropractic clinic is gentle,
effective, and proven to alleviate pain in a relatively
brief period of time. Non-specific neck pain patients
reported that they felt improvement
in their neck disability after one cervical spine manipulation session.
(1) Even for cases that more difficult (like the
following), The Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management provides
pain-relieving outcomes. A patient with neck pain due
to narrowing of the cervical spine foramen
and radiating arm pain due to a C6-C7 cervical disc herniation reported
reduced pain and better function in 10 treatments
over 4 weeks. The patient was without pain and fully functional 8 months later. (2) Another patient with a post-surgical
C6-7 fusion who had neck pain and back pain stated that he
had decreased pain (which fell from
8/10 to 3/10) in 12 visits in 3 months with Cox® treatment. (3) A review
of published papers on the effectiveness of manual therapy for chronic
neck pain, depicted to be a safe and less painful method to
lessen chronic neck pain, proposed that manipulative
therapy lowers the degree of chronic neck pain
and neck disability. (4) And most patients do not have to continue
care ‘forever’. A new study stated that chiropractors
do not recommend continued care except for certain types of neck pain patients: only 39% of
patients were proposed to continue care beyond 4 weeks
with long duration of neck pain being the most commong indicator
for continued care. (5) Our Cox® Technic treatment plan for cervical spine pain is gentle and effective for Vancouver
neck pain whether it is acute or chronic, radiating into
the shoulder or down the arm or centralized to the neck. This time of year, neck
pain patients walk into this
Vancouver chiropractic office daily! We are ready
to help each of them find a little more JOY of
the season!
Vancouver CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH: Exercise those Neck Muscles!
Cervical spine pain patients who want sustained Vancouver
pain relief often get
it once they add exercise. A simple elastic band exercise program was
shown to be effective for non-specific neck pain decrease
and improved strength of cervical spine flexor, extensor and
scapular muscles. (6) To
improve neck pain and disability effects, a study found
that isometric exercises significantly lessened neck
disability index scores after 4 weeks for cervical spondylosis patients. (7)
These are simple exercises that don’t
take long to do or to have a beneficial effect on neck pain. So
good!
