Vancouver Chiropractic Plan for Pain Relief and Prevention with Exercise

April 20, 2021

“Do I have to exercise?”

“Yes, you should if you want to feel better faster and prevent pain,“ your Vancouver chiropractic encourages.

“How long do I have to exercise each day?”

“Not long, just effectively,” Vancouver Disc Centers suggests.

Exercise is not every Vancouver back pain or neck pain patient’s ’thing’. Vancouver Disc Centers understands. Exercise is also so key to our back and neck pain patient’s recovery and future prevention of the pain. We are with our Vancouver chiropractic patients every step of the way to get the most of the exercise effort so that it results in pain prevention and relief.

OPTIMAL NECK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Neck pain sufferers know how pain may decrease their ability to look around comfortably. Such neck pain patients were assessed for their cervical range of motion and pain intensity with a flexion-rotation test. They were then directed to do a 20-minutes cervical spine exercise session. 50% of them were then also treated with manual therapy applied to the C0-C1 and C2-C3 cervical spine levels. Those who performed the exercise program and received manual therapy did significantly better in terms of range of motion, pain intensity reduction, and the flexion-rotation test. (1) Another study reported that the optimal stretching time of cervical muscles in patients with chronic myofascial pain syndrome was 30 seconds as opposed to 15 or 60 seconds or no stretching. This allowed the most benefit to pain intensity decrease while diminishing any negative effects on neural function of the affected nerve roots and central nervous system. (2) Vancouver Disc Centers always stresses that the proper exercise performed in proper form doesn’t have to take long to be useful! Plus, exercise places some control in the hands of its sufferer since exercise can be performed whenever.

OPTIMAL LOW BACK PAIN EXERCISE GUIDES

Integrating exercise training into the multidisciplinary treatment of non-specific chronic low back pain does make sense. This type of back pain affects so many people worldwide and is a primary cause of disability. Proper exercise training transitions the back pain patient to self-management. Recently, researchers posed that pain intensity and disability - and even mental health struggles in such back pain patients - were improved with options like resistance and aerobic exercise while Pilates, resistance exercise, yoga, and stabilization exercise. (3) Vancouver Disc Centers agrees! Exercise is valuable in so many ways.
