Vancouver Disc Centers Knows Anatomy Well, Knows Your Spine Well

Your Vancouver chiropractor knows your spine! Vancouver Disc Centers knows anatomy. Back in chiropractic school, your chiropractor studied much about anatomy of the spine and applies that knowledge every day. Knowing the anatomy of the spine is continually at the forefront of your chiropractor’s mind as you and each spine pain, neck pain, back pain patient walks into the practice! It’s so exciting! (Are you not you glad someone finds it exciting?)

LEARNING ANATOMY IN SCHOOL

When we were in school, we’re all guilty of learning just to pass an exam. When in professional school, such learning is more important than ever since it will impact everyday work. (How much do you remember from your school days?) An international survey of chiropractors and anatomists discovered that chiropractors felt that a higher level of anatomy teaching during chiropractic education was advantageous for clinical practice, permitting better understanding, application, and analysis of anatomical information to support a clinical decision in their daily clinical practice. (1) An Australian study of chiropractors compared their knowledge of anatomy to that of chiropractic students. The chiropractic practitioners reported that they knew their anatomy and demonstrated it by taking a test of their knowledge. This was compared to the equivalent in their chiropractic student counterparts. The chiropractors demonstrated that they retained their knowledge of anatomy - and knew they did! – contradicting the thought that chiropractic practitioners may not retain it after a period of time. Knowledge of anatomy is utilized daily in chiropractic practice, and chiropractors understand their anatomy. (2) Your Vancouver chiropractor does! Just ask to find out more.

SPINAL ANATOMY KNOWLEDGE PUT TO USE IN CHIROPRACTIC CLINICAL PRACTICE

Applying spinal manipulation every day applies knowledge of the spine’s anatomy every day. The most ordinary reasons people said they sought chiropractic care were low back pain (49.7%), neck pain (22.5%), and extremity issues (10.0%). The typical treatment they received were spinal manipulation (79.3%), soft tissue therapy (35.1%), and formal patient education (31.3%). (3) Spinal conditions get a great deal of attention from chiropractic patients and their chiropractors, of course! But fortunate side effects of chiropractic care materialize in the medical literature as well like potential cardiovascular benefit. In a placebo-controlled, assessor-blinded, randomized trial, researchers reported on the immediate effects of upper thoracic spine manual therapy on cardiovascular autonomic control of musculoskeletal pain patients (ie, back pain, spine pain, neck pain, etc.). The researchers explained that musculoskeletal pain intensified the risk of cardiovascular events. (4) Come experience these benefits of chiropractic treatment based on spinal anatomy knowledge.
